The theme for week 5 was muse...a muse is a source of inspiration. The most obvious subject was my kids, but I wanted to do something different. I had an idea, but it required good weather and my schedule allowing me to shoot during a very small period of the day and the two just never happened on the same day. I finally gave up waiting after I fell over a week behind and snapped a quick photo of one of my three little muses...Molly Jane
Week 6 was words...with a kindergartener and preschooler in the house, there is a lot of focus on words in our house right now...reading them, writing them, spelling them...so, this one seemed pretty obvious!
Since her sisters have both been in my project 52 photos twice each in the first 6 weeks, I decided it was my middle daughter, Kayla's turn this week. However, she is the hardest of the three to photograph because she hates the camera and clams up whenever I try to take pictures of her. She pretty much refuses to look at me or the camera when I have it in my hand. So, the challenge was finding an idea for this week's theme, "Open your heart" that would make her want to participate. Grandma and Grandpa sent the perfect prop in their Valentine's Day gift for the girls-little heart shaped boxes of chocolates! My plan was to get a picture of her opening it and/or eating one, but as I was working out my settings, I captured this shot of her waiting so patiently for mommy to tell her she could open her heart, how could I not use it? And yes, she still got to open it and eat one!
